Emre Ozbirinci, Master Mariner, joined Taylor Marine (Hamburg) in May 2025. He brings with him extensive seagoing and shoreside experience gained across a broad spectrum of maritime operations.
Emre began his career at sea as a senior deck officer with two major Turkish shipping companies, serving on various types and sizes of bulk and general cargo vessels. He subsequently transitioned ashore, working for nearly seven years with a Greek-based P&I Correspondent and Marine Consultancy firm. He then spent a further three years as Head of P&I Turkey at a leading Marine Consultancy company.
Over the course of his shoreside career, Emre has acted on behalf of shipowners, charterers, P&I clubs, hull and machinery underwriters, insurers, and law firms, handling a wide range of claims and precautionary matters. His experience includes:
Major marine casualties involving equipment failure, collisions, groundings, and cargo/vessel damage or total loss, representing both P&I and H&M interests.
Claims involving moisture-sensitive cargoes such as fertilizers, steel products, and foodstuffs.
Shift and mechanical damage to steel cargoes within general cargo vessel holds.
MARPOL-related incidents across various Turkish ports and straits.
Salvage operations within the Turkish Straits.
On-/off-hire condition surveys for bulk, container, and tanker vessels.
Investigations into crew injuries and fatalities.
P&I Club entry surveys and routine follow-up inspections on a range of vessel types, including USTs.
Quantity determination surveys for cargo and bunkers on board.
